Working from 1974 till nowadays as a specialist of reconstructing orthopedic surgery, Prof.V.Serdyuk has accumulated unique experience in surgical treatment of disabled people with flabby paralysis, who lost functions of low limbs as a result of trauma of spinal cord or poliomyelitis. Actually, Odessa Regional Traumatological Center (director - , Prof. U.V.Suhin) and it`s 2-d Orthopedic and Traumatological clinic, headed by Prof.V.Serdyuk is the only place in Ukraine and elsewhere where such surgical treatment is provided.

Effective operations give disabled patients a chance to start walking themselves with a help of crutches in follow up period and even without them after restoration of muscles power. After such treatment people start driving a car, come back to active social activity, etc.

Prof.V.Serdyuk and his colleges successfully treat practically all kinds of posttraumatic, congenital and other deformations (flat foot with deviation of first and other fingers, hammer fingers, tips foot, contracture of aponeurosis palmaris, contractures of extremities etc.). They also perform elongations of lower and upper limbs.

Prof.V.Serdyuk participated in development of a complex of operations for disabled patients with cerebral spastic paralysis.
